Well, I'm WORKING...yes working!!! Its only 3 days a week, but believe me, that is almost more than I can handle! I had to do something; I'm out of money and waiting on the blankety-blank disability (which isn't a for sure thing) is not paying my bills!! So I'm now working at KCI airport as a ticket reader for Southwest Airlines. So far so good, but the MD is causing some problems (as it would). Last Tuesdsay I spent several hours hugging the podium they have for us to use in fear of falling down.

This job is pretty enjoyable (except for the standing on your feet for hours at a time bit). You get to see alot of people; some are just so funny!! And on my 2nd day on the job, I read the ticket of a guy I SWEAR TO GOD could have been Nicolas Cage's younger brother!!! He was a bit shorter, younger, but looked so much like him I fear I couldn't stop looking at him! Of course, as he told me, everyone says he looks just like him and he rather enjoys women drooling over him. I'm sure!!

We do get some rather nasty people though as well. People don't realize that we are only doing our jobs and the deal with having photo ID that must match the name on the ticket is not our idea, its required by the FAA. Also, they get really mad when they go out of the gate area and find they must come back through us and the security checkpoint. Don't they know that's for their safety as well as everyone else on the plane?? Once you leave gate area, anyone can put something dangerous in your baggage, etc. And so many come through unprepared; digging for boarding pass or ID. There's only a million signs everywhere reminding you that you MUST have your pass and photo ID!! Sigh.... We had one gentleman (and I use that term lightly) who insisted we did not have to see his ID and wasn't going to provide it. Thank God Riley, my coworker, was taking care of him. He finally got the man to show the ID and then he threw a fit over having to go through security again. I just don't get some people.

Off to get ready for another harrowing day of standing standing standing...wish me a relatively "gravity-free" day without any excessive dizziness!!!

OOPS...forgot an important announcement!! My grandson, Thomas James Younger, was born Oct 2, weighing in at 7 lbs 10 oz, 21 1/2 in long, and looking just like his daddy!! He's pretty much an incarnate of James in temper and personality as well. He's a fussy one, wants to be held 24/7, and when he awakens, you best have that bottle ready!! But he's a wonderful chubby bundle of joy too. Now, if only his big sister would get over her jealous stage. She's prone to bopping him on the head if he's getting attention and she's not. If this child lives through his first year with her, he's set for life!!
