Happy New Year!!! Hope everyone had a safe and happy one. I spent it recovering from a bad stomach virus. It hit like a ton of bricks in the middle of the night...and when it did, there was no stopping it. I ran to the bathroom (and didn't make it in time, I'm embarrassed to say) and then BOOM...I passed out. When I came to I was covered in vomit (oops, forgot to tell you that it has a HIGH gross factor!!! My bad...) I'm lucky I didn't choke to death on it. Anyway, I'm back to my usual self...

Since I missed working on Christmas day (migraine) and then 2 days that I was asked to work to make up for missing Christmas day, I had to work today or be suspended for 5 days (apparently illness is considered an unexcused absence, since its not planned and it puts "them" in a bind.....whatever!!!!!!!). It wasn't bad; we actually got a 30 min break every 30 min!!! Now THAT I could live with!! And we didn't have to go inside the gate to "catch" planes...there were 7 of us and 3 is the limit of people who can be inside the gate. Instead I had fun chatting with those coming through with boarding passes, taking my breaks, and laughing at the antics of the security guys behind us. Late in the evening a woman (in her 60's would be my guess) came tottering through, pushing a wheelchair in front of her with her belongings in it. She slurred her words telling us her flight was boarding and she had to hurry. So off she went to go through the scanners, complaining she was missing her flight. T, one of the First Line (security) people, told her to get in the chair and he would get her on the flight. She happily hopped in the chair, clutching her handbag, and asking him to please hurry. With a gleam in his eye he said "Baby, hold on, I'm gonna get you there!" and took off RUNNING, pushing the poor hapless woman in front of him. If that weren't funny enough, as he turned the corner (on one wheel!) I caught a glimpse of her face. Imagine the painting "Scream"....you got it. And she also looked a bit green around the gills. I hear a bit of scream behind us - we can see the shadow of him racing behind the wall behind us (its dark gold glass; can't see through it, but shadows show up well) Finally we see him still running, the chair careening wildly, and he runs down the ramp to deposit this woman on the plane. When he comes back, I'm still giggling uncontrollably. When I asked him about the scream, he said he hit that small bump in the corridor and she nearly flew out of the chair. When I could speak coherently again, I told him about the look on her face. He began to guffaw...she was DRUNK! I'm betting "Ralph" (what they call the bags for airsickness on the planes) sees alot of action out of her during the flight.

I'm off tomorrow...I just got my hair cut (and what a groaner that is; I was charged $30 for a cut and partial blow dry!!!!!!! AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH) and I planned a date with Miss Clairol to put more brown glossy lights in my auburn hair. Still plan on it, I just hope I can get it done. I feel like a sheared sheep!!

Off to bed for me. By the end of the evening, I was tipsy as all get out. I hate that feeling. If I didn't watch myself, I could feel myself on the verge of landing face down on the carpet. Wouldn't that be fodder for talk???
